ABOUT Addie Brown
During treatment, I incorporate non-violence communication (NVC), which will help you get in touch with your needs as well as learn how to express yourself appropriately. Additionally, I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to help my clients connect to their emotions and recognize the distortions in their own thought processes. Regardless of your situation, a crucial part of therapy is learning how to deal with stress and anxiety in a healthy way.
My background and experience are rooted in case management, working with developmentally disabled adults and the homeless. I was involved with direct care for ten years and was later put in charge of the facility. Before opening my own practice, I gained experience supervising mid-level practitioners, case managers, and mental health specialists. If it would benefit you, I can connect you to additional resources in the community.
One of the things I love about my job is that I am able to help people of all ages and backgrounds work through their struggles. As a person of color, I also understand the nuanced struggles specific to the African American community and their relationship with society. Though I have many years working with underserved and disadvantaged populations, I am also equally capable of helping people from all walks of life.
Before we get started, I want you to know that I have deep compassion and empathy for your situation. I am entirely dedicated to helping you find the solutions you are looking for. And above all, I genuinely care.
